Culinary Arts Instructor

Summary

Plans, implements and evaluates instruction in Culinary Arts curriculum designed to address a wide range of maturity and skill levels. Courses consist of Hospitality Fundamentals, Fundamentals of Food Production, Baking & Pastry Arts and Dining Room Service & Operations. Assists secondary high school students with work based learning opportunities as well as with post-secondary placement. The Culinary Arts program also manages and operates our school restaurant, Cup & Saucer, as well as participates in a limited number of events associated with our school.   Encourages parental, business and community involvement.

Experience

·         Possess or be eligible for valid state department of education license/certificate appropriate for position.

·         Ability to successfully teach courses in the Ohio Department of Education Hospitality and Tourism career field specifically within the Culinary Arts pathway.

·         Industry certification(s) preferred. Serv Safe

·         Meets all mandated health requirements (e.g., a negative tuberculosis test, medical exam, etc.).

·         A record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment.

·         Complies with drug-free workplace rules and policies.

·         Keeps current with technology and other workplace innovations that support job functions.

·         Training and/or experience in behavioral management techniques.
