Base Pay: Starting rate of pay is $ 17.50 per hour.

This is a full-time position.  Core agency hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. 

 JOB DUTIES: 

Van Wert County Department of Job and Family Services is seeking a Social Services Worker 1 to work one-on-one with families to promote safety.  Primary job duties include providing services to adults, families, and children in protective services and working with the Social Services Worker 2 in identifying adult/family strengths, needs, and risks or concerns that are interfering with safety, healthy development, and/or stability and well-being   Taking intake phone calls and referring families to appropriate services, supervising visitations, and working with families and individuals on budgeting, parenting skills, transportation, and life skills such as shopping, making appointments and paying bills.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

Applicants must have the following:

• Must have a high school diploma or GED
• Valid driver’s license
• Previous experience in the social services field or with case management preferred but not required.
