OUR HISTORY
Westwood Behavioral Health Center, Inc. is a private not-for-profit (501C3) community behavioral health agency serving the Van Wert community since 1976. In 1996, the current Van Wert facility was built and operated as The Stepping Stones Center, Inc. In 2001, The Stepping Stones Center, Inc. and Fountainview Center merged mental health and substance abuse services, forming Westwood Behavioral Health Center, Inc. In 2007, Westwood Behavioral Health Center began providing behavioral health services at our Paulding office location and in 2011, added substance abuse services. In 2015, Westwood Behavioral Health Center began providing community behavioral health services in our Delphos office. Westwood, a CARF-accredited Center since 2008, is a contract provider for the Tri-County ADAMHS Board serving Van Wert, Paulding, and Mercer counties.
OUR MISSION STATEMENT
Westwood Behavioral Health Center is a wholly owned subsidiary of Westwood Behavioral Health Center, Inc.. It serves as a private, non-profit community behavioral health center serving the residents of Van Wert and Paulding Counties and surrounding areas. We provide a comprehensive continuum of behavioral health care services. These are provided through prevention, intervention, counseling, case management, and referrals to appropriate levels of service in a client-centered environment in a manner that enhances the quality of life and promotes human dignity. We believe that some of the conditions we address are preventable and that all are treatable with the appropriate support services and support systems. The Center continuously strives to evaluate, improve, and maintain the quality of client care in anticipation of changing community needs. Our Center comprises professional, qualified personnel who provide accessible services in deference to race, creed, gender, age, sexual orientation, national origin, or ability to pay.

PURPOSE & PHILOSOPHY FOR CARE
Westwood Behavioral Health Center, Inc. is dedicated to providing appropriate mental health, prevention, alcohol and drug treatment, and recovery services in a person-centered environment in the Van Wert and Paulding counties and surrounding areas. Mental Health and Alcohol and Drug disorders often result in marital, financial, legal, social, psychological, emotional, and biological problems. The Board and staff believe that mental illness requires an integrated approach to assist clients in maximizing their functioning and that addictions are preventable and treatable with appropriate services and support systems. Services are provided through prevention, intervention, C/I services, counseling (including group, individual, family, and gender-specific), case management, pharmacotherapy, and referrals to appropriate levels of care not available at the Center.
