Anticipated Criminal Justice Instructor

Summary

Plans, implements, and evaluates instruction in Criminal Justice curriculum designed to address a wide range of maturity and skill levels. Within this pathway students will be introduced to the American criminal justice system, our laws, report writing, data processing, administration of justice, patrol techniques, first aid, business/industrial security, forensic science, radio communications, homeland security, dispatching, self-defense, public relations, and military drills. Assists secondary high school students with post-secondary placement. Encourages parental involvement.

Experience

· Minimum of five years of experience in the field of Criminal Justice/Public Safety
· Possess or ability to obtain a valid Ohio Career Technical Education license in Criminal Justice/Public Safety
· Ability to successfully teach courses in the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce career field specifically within the Law and Public Safety pathway.
· Ohio Peace Officer Training Certification(s) preferred
· Knowledge and/or certifications should include, but not limited to: NIMS, APCO, OSHA 10, and CPR/First Aid
· Meets all mandated health requirements (e.g., a negative tuberculosis test, etc.)
· A record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment
· Complies with drug-free workplace rules and board policies
· Keeps current with technology and other workplace innovations that support job functions
· Training and/or experience in behavioral management techniques
