POSITION TITLE: APEX Accelerator Center Director (AACD)
DEPARTMENT: Custom Training Solutions
SUPERVISOR: Vice President of Workforce Development
GRADE LEVEL: Exempt

GENERAL PURPOSE
The APEX Accelerator Center Director (AACD) works in the area of business development and is responsible for growing business partnerships. The AACD will help address the unique needs of local businesses, particularly those looking to enter the world of government contracting. This individual will work closely with federal, state, and local government agencies, as well as leading industry organizations. This position will work in the Ohio counties of Allen, Hancock, Paulding, Putnam and Van Wert counties. This position is contingent on continued grant funding.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Provide leadership and direction to APEX marketing assistance efforts.
2. Identify area of needed client education.
3. Design training programs for new employees.
4. Serve as an active resource for marketing and support staff.
5. Responsible for the overall management of the designated regions procurement network.
6. Establish and maintain close working relationship with federal buying centers in our area.
7. Establish Memoranda of Understanding (MOU)s with partners located within their region.
8. Provide business counseling, client case management, technical research and training.
9. Collect and enter database client profiles, session reports and contract award verifications.
10. Attend state meetings and APEX training meetings on occasion.
11. Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in purchasing, business, marketing, public administration or related field or five years of progressive experience in contract administration, marketing, sales, purchasing, and/or government relations.
• Experience working with public workforce or economic development agencies preferred.
• Supervisory experience preferred.

Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Excellent customer service.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite and Google Apps programs.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED
Supervisory duties for assigned part time employees.

RESPONSIBILITY FOR PUBLIC CONTACT
Position will interact, and do presentations for business & industry personnel, NSCC and other college personnel, and the general public.
