Database Administrator

We are currently seeking a Database Administrator – can be flexible with the work location (Van Wert or Saint Henry).

 

The primary goal of this position to provide advanced technical support and maintenance for the organization’s database infrastructure. Ensure the highest levels of reliability, security, and performance of databases and SQL server environments.

 

SHIFT HOURS: Monday through Friday 7:00am-4:00pm

STARTING SALARY: From $62,500

PERKS: Monthly and year-end profit-sharing bonuses (dependent upon company performance)

Job Functions:

  • Monitor database performance, identify issues, and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and stability
  • Diagnose and resolve database-related issues promptly to minimize downtime and disruption
  • Install, configure, and maintain database systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability
  • Develop and implement database standards and best practices to ensure consistency and reliability
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, procedures, and changes
  • Work closely with developers, system administrators, and other stakeholders to support database-related needs and projects
  • Develop and maintain scripts for automating routine database tasks and processes
  • Implement and maintain database security measures, including user access controls and data encryption, to protect sensitive information
  • Ensure the accuracy and consistency of data across the database systems through regular audits and maintenance
  • Utilize and maintain backup and recovery strategies to safeguard data and ensure business continuity
  • Willing to learn and attend training to keep up with internal processes and changes in technology
Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology or related field
  • Minimum of three years of experience in database administration or a related field
  • Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate or similar are highly desirable
  • Extensive knowledge of database design, backup, security, and performance monitoring
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and Windows Server environments
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in managing database configurations and data integrity
  • Experience in optimizing database performance, including query optimization and indexing
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills to resolve database issues efficiently
  • Understanding of database security practices, including user access control and data encryption
