The Van Wert County Sheriff’s Office is responsible for all law enforcement services in the county. The Sheriff’s Office has an 82-bed Correctional Facility and serves as a PSAP location for 9-1-1 operations. We operate K-9, Dare, Dog Warden, and Explorer programs. The Sheriff’s Office has 13 deputies assigned to the road operation, 2 deputies assigned to the Detective Bureau, and 1 deputy assigned as an investigator to a Task Force of the Enforcement Division.
