The Barista will demonstrate knowledge of all products, coffees, and chocolates. Barista’s create a memorable experience for our customers by providing friendly customer service with quality beverages and products while maintaining a safe, clean, and comfortable store environment.
ACCOUNTABILITY
The Barista is supervised by the Lead Barista and the Store Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES
● Provides the highest customer service to ensure that customers have a great experience while shopping and enjoying Winans Chocolates + Coffees.
1. Creates coffee drinks by using the exact recipes provided in training on a consistent basis.
2. Demonstrates initiative, between serving customers, to keep coffee stations clean and orderly.
3. Ensure the freshness of all products by checking date codes and product rotation.
4. Completes all tasks designated for shift.
● Demonstrates an enthusiasm for Winans Chocolates + Coffees business that flows into the team and customers.
● Communicate to the lead barista and or store manager as needed with questions, concerns and feedback in order to share an understanding of optimal day to day operations.
● Demonstrates integrity, respect and kindness.
● Execution of daily/weekly/monthly tasks (i.e.: maintenance log, management notes from communication log)
REQUIRED SKILL AND ABILITIES
● Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service.
● Excellent time management skills.
● Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
● Familiarity with food handling, safety, and other restaurant guidelines.
● Demonstrates an enthusiasm for the Winans Chocolates and Coffee business that flows over into the team and customers.
● Displays a welcoming attitude to all customers that creates an atmosphere where people can have a positive experience that adds to their day.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
● High school diploma or equivalent required.
● Previous restaurant/retail experience required; management experience preferred.
● Must be 16 Years or older
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
● Ability to traverse all parts of the store quickly.
● Prolonged standing up to 8 hours with unscheduled or minimal breaks.
● Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
