GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
Performs responsible managerial, administrative, technical, and supervisory work in the operation and maintenance of the cemetery. An employee in this class – plans, organizes, and supervises staff providing semi-skilled to skilled maintenance duties to the cemetery, oversees the sale, opening, and closing of cemetery plots with families and funeral home directors, and maintains all related records. The employee coordinates, supervises, and participates in landscaping and mowing cemetery grounds. Work includes budget development and management, personnel and equipment management, and short- and long-term-range operational planning.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The work is medium work requiring exerting to lift, carry, push, pull otherwise move objects. The work may require specific physical characteristics and abilities.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work performed is in both inside and outside environments, in extremely hot and wintry weather conditions. The work environment can be a dangerous and unusual environmental risk that requires a wide range of safety and other precautions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Completion of secondary education, or equivalent, and experience performing heavy manual labor, maintenance tasks, and administrative duties or the combination of education, experience, and training.
LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATE REQUIREMENTS:
Must possess a valid driver’s license and have or obtain a Commercial Spraying Applicators License.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma or its equivalent
Skills in using computers, related software, word processing, spreadsheets, and database operations. Or training in these applications.
Operation of heavy equipment such as backhoe, dump truck, or training to operate.
SALARY/BENEFITS: $20.00 to $22.00 per hour with a 6-month probation for increase. Insurance within 30 days of hiring. Retirement through OPERS. Paid vacation and sick leave.
