GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
Assist the superintendent in managerial, administrative, and technical work in the operation and maintenance of the cemetery. An employee in this class plan provides semi-skilled to skilled maintenance duties to the cemetery, helps with the opening and closing of cemetery plots with families and funeral home directors, and helps maintain all related records. The employee helps coordinate, supervise, and participate in landscaping tasks, including mowing cemetery grounds. Work includes but is not limited to all aspects of the day-to-day operation of the cemetery.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The work is medium work requiring exerting to lift, carry, push, pull otherwise move objects. The work may require specific physical characteristics and abilities.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work is generally performed inside and outside environments in extreme hot and cold weather conditions. The work environment involves some risks of exposure to dangerous situations or unusual environmental risks, which require a wide range of safety and other precautions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Completion of secondary education, or equivalent, and experience performing heavy manual labor, maintenance tasks, and administrative duties or the combination of education, experience, and training.
LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATE REQUIREMENTS:
Must possess a valid driver’s license and have or obtain a Commercial Spraying Applicators License.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma or its equivalent
Skills in using computers, related software, word processing, spreadsheets, and database operations. Or willing to be trained in these applications.
Operation of a dump truck or be trained to operate.
SALARY/BENEFITS: $18.00 to $20.00 per hour with a 6-month probation for increase. Insurance within 30 days of hiring. Retirement through OPERS. Paid vacation and sick leave.
