Enrollment Specialist

Summary

The Enrollment Specialist position will assist prospective and current learners throughout the enrollment process to promote academic success and degree completion by providing necessary information and supports. Additionally, the position will be responsible for providing access to appropriate college departments and serve as an advocate for the learner’s needs. Work hours may vary and may include early mornings, late evenings, and occasional weekends within the 40-hour week.

This position will be based out of our Van Wert, OH location. Normal Weekly Hours: 40 hours, 12 months per year.  Hours will range from 8am- 8pm Monday- Thursday and 8am- 5pm on Fridays.  Hours/days will vary due to operational situations and special events.

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Participate in recruitment efforts through events, marketing, and outreach.
  2. Provide effective, efficient, empathetic, and professional assistance to incoming prospective students.
  3. Identify and troubleshoot barriers to help learners complete all steps of the enrollment processes accurately and timely (i.e.: application, orientation, OLR, Accuplacer testing).
  4. Collaborate with Data Entry & Testing Assistant to assist with the administration of Accuplacer testing and other placement assessments.
  5. Assist with the implementation of learner recruitment and retention activities.
  6. Assist learners with class selection and degree planning while considering career goals, academic requirements, and transfer options.
  7. Update and maintain information in college software systems for reporting, tracking progression, and communicating with faculty and staff.
  8. Recognize circumstances and connect learners to appropriate campus resources which may include: financial aid, advising, registrar, business office, accommodations, career services, veteran services, testing, and tutoring.
  9. Build partnerships with and connect learners to community resources to overcome barriers (ie: non-academic, financial).
  10. Ensure compliance of college policies and procedures.
  11. Collaborate and perform functions and activities related to college processes including outgoing and incoming communications.
  12. Assist the Learner Services division with events on and off campus.
  13. Other similar duties as assigned.
Experience

Education and Experience:

·        Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in counseling, marketing, public relations, or business.

·    Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Provide, encourage, and ensure exemplary customer service.
  • Ability to multi-task, identify priorities and maintain attention to details.
  • Excellent computer skills as appropriate for the area as well as having the ability to update skills based on new computer technology.  This includes proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suites programs.
  • Ability to learn divisional terminology, programs and their requirements.
  • Interpersonal skills as well as oral and written communication skills appropriate to this position is required.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with others or in teams.
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships characterized by integrity and responsibility.
  • Interpret and analyze appropriate correspondence, documentation, instructions, rules and guidelines.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and understand FERPA.

In accordance with the School Professional Agreement, this position’s starting salary is $47,261.55.
