HR Specialist

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Manage the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, training, performance management, and offboarding.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, including employment contracts, benefits, and leave administration.
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries, providing guidance and support on HR-related matters.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and assist managers in identifying and addressing employee development needs.
  • Collaborate with management to develop and implement employee retention strategies.
  • Coordinate and administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other related benefits.
  • Manage and resolve employee relations issues, conducting investigations when necessary.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in HR and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Willingness and ability to cross-train as a Driver Recruiter and assist with recruiting Class A truck drivers as needed.

Experience

Requirements:

  • Experience in HR roles, preferably in the logistics or transportation industry, preferred
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations.
  • Proven experience in recruitment, onboarding, and employee relations.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and other HR software applications.
  • Professional certifications in HR (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) are a plus.

Education:

Associate’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (equivalent work experience will be considered).

Experience:

Human resources: 3 years (preferred)

Recruiting: 3 years (transportation preferred)
