Job Description
✦ Teach LifeWise Classes
✧ Implement the LifeWise curriculum in the classroom
✧ Invest in building relationships with students and praying for them regularly ✧ Create and maintain a safe, organized and stimulating classroom environment through various teaching techniques and discipline that is redemptive in nature
✦ Maintain Records
✧ Take attendance in each class and provide attendance records to LifeWise Program Director and/or school officials as needed
✧ Maintain accurate class rosters including health concerns and special needs of students as noted on parent permission slips
✧ Prepare adequate information and materials for a substitute teacher
✦ Maintain the Classroom
✧ Maintain a clean, attractive and well-ordered classroom
✧ Know procedures for dealing with emergency situations
✧ Purchase classroom supplies as needed using funds provided by Program Director ✦ Communicate
✧ Act as a LifeWise Academy ambassador within the community
✧ Attend annual school open house and other outreach events as available
✧ Maintain ongoing dialogue with school personnel to stay apprised of class schedule changes and ensure student well-being
✧ Build relationships with volunteers and keep them apprised of schedule changes ✧ Submit regular updates, stories and photos to Program Director
✦ Other Duties
✧ Complete the LifeWise Teacher Certification
✧ Participate in the annual LifeWise Summit
✧ Attend virtual monthly LifeWise Teachers’ Lounge meetings
✧ Help with fundraising events as needed
Qualifications and Experience
✦ A minimum of two years of classroom teaching experience in either a school or church setting ✦ A mature personal Christian faith consistent with the LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith ✦ Active membership in a church that aligns with the LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith
This is a Monday teaching position. Salary will be based on previous teaching experience. We also offer Retirement Benefits.
