Maintenance Supervisor – 3rd shift

Our Van Wert Cooked Meats Plant in Van Wert County, Ohio creates, cooks, and slices some of the highest quality deli products on the market for brands you know and trust. Cooper Farms is currently seeking a 3rd shift Maintenance Supervisor to join our team in Van Wert.

The primary goal of this position is the effective leadership of all maintenance technicians to maintain equipment in proper working order for the purpose of efficient production while striving for departmental excellence. This position requires strong leadership skills and the ability to safely lead a team to meet production goals in a fast pace environment.  Knowledge of safety specifications and practices, production goals, and scheduling needs are a necessity. Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate with people at all levels to strive towards continuous improvement is a must in this position.

SHIFT HOURS: Sunday through Thursday or Monday through Friday 10:00pm-6:30am

STARTING SALARY: $68,000 – $76,000

PERKS: Monthly and year-end profit-sharing bonuses (dependent upon company performance)

Job Functions:

• Assign job duties for maintenance technicians
• Recommend measures to improve equipment performance and overall quality of products
• Initiates appropriate steps to prevent workplace injuries and accidents
• Review training procedures to make sure all team members are properly trained
• Maintain an effective parts inventory
• Recommend personnel actions such as promotions, transfers and terminations
• Maintain the lock out / tag out procedures as the equipment or staff changes in the plant
• Assist the technicians in trouble shooting
• Hold monthly departmental meetings
• Work with other supervisors and team members to achieve overall effectiveness
