New Product Development Engineer III

Summary

POSITION OVERVIEW: Alliance Automation has an immediate opening for a Senior New Product Development Engineer at our rapidly growing business in Van Wert, Ohio. The ideal candidate for this role must possess strong communication skills, problem-solving skills, attention to detail, decision-making skills, ability to multi-task and work with others. A high level of creativity, the ability to exercise independent judgment, and general business understanding is required.

  4. Proficient at Troubleshooting
  5. Develops Customer Relationships

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

  • Performs work requiring a thorough knowledge of mechanical theory and principles, statutory codes, and equipment requirements
  • Ability to size and design mechanical and electromechanical components such as; chains, sprockets, belts, linear guides, cylinders, motors, servo motors, gearbox, etc
  • Design in accordance to GD&T tolerances and OSHA/RIA standards related to safety and ergonomics
  • Must be able to manage project timelines and project budgets
  • Installation support as required for prototype equipment
  • Support product development through all stages to be production ready
  • Support creation and changes to product manuals and supporting media
  • Review service calls, warranty costs, and quality issues
  • Verification and validation of designs using SPC, Gage R&R, FMEA, FEA, and Life cycle testing practices
Experience

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Minimum of 5 years of 3D design in Solidworks preferred
  • Strong project management aptitude
  • Able to conform to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Excellent communication skills; verbal and written
  • Experience with Solidworks Composer, Photoshop, and Adobe InDesign a plus

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field of study or equivalent work experience
