The primary goal of this position is to sell value-add products into the marketplace. It is the responsibility of this position to help grow a profitable line of Cooper Farms or private-label products. This position will spend time travelling.
SHIFT HOURS: Monday through Friday (salary role)
STARTING RATE: Commensurate with experience
ADDITIONAL PAY: Monthly and year-end profit sharing bonuses (dependent upon company performance)
Job Functions:
- Explore and onboard relationship-based accounts who fit the Cooper Farms business model and can maximize our volume and production capabilities
- Find long-term customers who will maximize our net sales revenues
- Develop sales relationships that will grow and retain business
- Be consistent in touchpoints through all types of communication including customer visits and pricing reviews
- Stay abreast of weekly sales activity and service level
- Understand your customers’ business and their competition
- Develop a system of visiting as many customer stores as reasonably possible, and ensure current customers are serviced to the highest levels
- Collaborate with National Sales Manager to develop a yearly strategic business plan and constantly add strategies and actions toward achievement of goals
- Keep accounts receivable current and within terms agreed upon
- Provide ideas to improve our product line and service to our customers
- Attend industry shows to maintain or improve customer relations
- Brainstorm marketing ideas that will give Cooper Farms a competitive edge by staying well-informed on current product trends and becoming an expert on the products offered by our competitors
- Evaluate which opportunities make sense to pursue internally vs leveraging our broker network
