POSITION OVERVIEW: The Service Engineer is responsible for the small designing fixtures, planning Service jobs, and quoting Service work. The primary work location is the Van Wert office. The position does allow for working remotely from time to time. Light travel would be required to perform some of the quoting duties.
TOP 5 RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Organizing and looking up parts.
- Using the archive drives to find parts or assembly drawings. If drawings are not available, then reverse engineering to build.
- Concepting and scope validation with customers
- Putting together budgets for material and hours for quotes
- Design and detail new machine upgrades
- Taking existing designs and modifying or designing new fixtures
- Project Coordination
- Setting up Service launch meetings, labor, and following up on Service installs to ensure completion
- Customer WOW Experience
- Exceeding customer expectations, meeting their needs, and giving them more than they expected.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
- Protecting the budget and timeline of projects
- Monitoring jobs and adjusting designs or people to accomplish the project within its parameters.
- Update manuals and send updated prints to customers
- After the new design, updated prints will need to be sent to the customer
- Attending group launch meetings to Service
- Providing feedback to the groups from Service on equipment designs.
- Monitoring and suggesting spare parts
- Following the spare parts inventory process and suggesting part packages to customs
- Traveling onsite to quote or design equipment
- Going onsite is required to increase the accuracy of the quote or the design
- Problem solving with customer assistance and service techs
- Helping with tickets and providing a recommendation for solutions
- Warranty reduction
- Review SCOUT and work with Quality to implement warranty claim reductions
- Closing SCOUT tickets
- Going through SCOUT weekly and confirming all the information is in and ready to close
