What a Mechanical Insulator Does
Mechanical Insulation Workers apply insulating materials to pipes, tanks, vessels, ductwork, or other mechanical systems to help control and maintain temperature.
Working Conditions
A typical day for a Mechanical Insulation Worker is installing sheet metal or PVC jacketing around insulated pipes, tanks, vessels, and duck work with screws, bands, or adhesives to protect the insulation from weather conditions or physical damage. They might also read blueprints and specifications to determine job requirements.
